ABOUT THE CONTEST

Istituto Marangoni Milano, in collaboration with L'Oréal Luxe, invites talented and motivated young creatives to apply for a Scholarship Award to enroll in the Undergraduate Three-Year Course in Art Direction for Beauty & Fashion. This scholarship is for candidates who wish to develop a contemporary creative profile at the intersection of fashion imagery, beauty culture, hairstyling, makeup art, visual storytelling, styling, and art direction.

A key strength of this course lies in its unique partnership model, bringing together Istituto Marangoni, L'Oréal Professionnel, L'Oréal Luxe, and the mentorship of Rossano Ferretti. This collaboration creates a highly distinctive learning environment where academic insight, industry expertise, and premium creative practice converge.

Scholarship Award: 5 scholarships valued at €5,000 per year for three academic years (total value: €15,000 per student).

WHAT IS REQUIRED

Applicants must submit the following materials:

1. Visual Portfolio in Styling and Beauty

The portfolio should present the applicant's creative identity, aesthetic sensibility, and visual research interests. It may include one or more of the following elements:

- Moodboards – visual research boards that communicate inspirations, references, colours, textures, beauty concepts, fashion atmospheres, cultural themes, or creative directions

- Photoshooting project (optional) – original photoshoot projects, editorial experiments, fashion or beauty images, styling exercises, visual narratives, or collaborative image-making projects

- Hairstyle portfolio (optional) – hairstyle projects, hair design experiments, colour studies, technical work, creative looks, or photographic documentation

- Makeup art portfolio (optional) – beauty looks, makeup experiments, face charts, artistic makeup proposals, editorial makeup concepts, or photographic documentation

The portfolio does not need to be fully professional. It should demonstrate the applicant's potential, creativity, visual culture, and willingness to experiment.

2. Personal Statement Letter (500 Words)

Applicants must submit a personal statement explaining: their motivation for applying to the scholarship; their interest in Art Direction for Beauty and Fashion; their educational or creative background; their personal vision of beauty, fashion, and image-making; and their future aspirations.

WHAT WILL BE THE FEE AFTER SCHOLARSHIP

The annual tuition fee for international (non-EU) students is €22,000, plus an enrollment fee of €4,000 (total €26,000 per year).

With the Talent Contest Scholarship of €5,000 per year, the fee after scholarship is:

Annual Tuition Fee (International): €22,000

Scholarship Deduction: – €5,000
Net Tuition Fee: €17,000 per year

Plus Enrollment Fee: €4,000 (payable each year)

Total Annual Fee After Scholarship: €21,000

(Total saving over three years: €15,000)

ABOUT THE PROGRAMME

The BA in Art Direction for Beauty & Fashion is a three-year undergraduate programme that sits at the intersection of fashion, beauty, media, luxury, and innovation. It is designed to educate a new generation of professionals capable of shaping, directing, and narrating the visual, cultural, and experiential dimensions of the contemporary beauty industry.

The programme develops creative, conceptual, cultural, and technical expertise in:

• Beauty image and visual storytelling
