In 1964, fashion and costume Historian and Designer Rosana Pistolese founded the Accademia Costume & Moda in Rome, creating an educational establishment that would serve both the fashion industry and the costume needs of entertainment industry.
Through Accademia’s Industry contacts students participate in live brief projects and are sponsored with fabrics and materials by Italy’s finest producers.
Today the Accademia is run by the founder’s family (third generation), with a long term view. Culture, Art and Design.
A coherent balance across research and culture, design, craftsmanship and innovation, product, Italy, and the tight collaboration with the most relevant protagonists of the global fashion system and entertainment industry, have led Accademia Costume & Moda to be the nest of current and future designers and professionals within a variety of fields.

The Three Year Undergraduate Programs are offered to students who are willing to work in the areas of "Fashion Editing, Styling & Communication" or "Cinema & Filmaking:Media Design and Multimedia Arts". All of subjects help the students develop research, design, technical and story telling competences through a cultural,experimental and laboratorial approach. The objective is to facilitate careers placement at the end of the program. Our approach is around the students and objectives are often achieved by supporting her/him in building and consolidating a unique creative identity

The First Level Academic Master’s Degree Programs are 1 Year Courses for a total amount of 1.500 hours and include curricular and professional internships in companies operating within the areas of interest of the degree. Highlyprofessional and theoretical-practical they combine cultural-artistic, research and experimentation, technical, stylistic and product development aspects within area of expertise. Built to not only pass experiences related to technological innovation in design, materials and craftsmanship but also to give managerial, organizational and operational knowledge.
The Vocational Courses are developed to deepening knowledge and acquiring new skills through a first introduction and acquisition of competence and a further professional training characterized by direct involvement with the Industry, in the areas of fashion design, editing, styling and communication.
These courses are offered with a weekend-formula for the needs of candidates who want to pursue their own study and / or work cycle.
