Course Details
The Undergraduate in Atelier Design is a deep craft program designed to create a 360° garment professional. Students sharpen their skills and conceive dresses, tailored garments, streetwear and knitwear.
Mastering techniques such as pattern making, draping, cutting & sewing, print design and embroidery—including a deep knowledge of raw materials and product development processes—is essential for every quality-driven brand, further demonstrating why this role is very sought-after in the job market today.
This program encourages students to make things exactly as they would in an atelier. As each student’s technical ability rises from the first to the second year, a specialization is chosen among the many categories of fashion products (including men’s suiting and women’s underwear) so participants can develop their portfolios and execute their final project.
Based on abilities, experience and acquired skills, Atelier Design graduates qualify for jobs as Pattern Makers, Textile Specialists, Materials Purchasers, Quality Controllers, CAD Designers, Garment Technologists and Product Testers. Their careers can then lead them to becoming Cutting Room Managers, Product Development Managers, Buyers, Product Trend Forecasters, Heads of Innovation, or pursuing independent careers as Bespoke Tailors.
