About Course

  • 4 Years
  • Full-time

  • This combined pathway with integrated foundation will train you in key public relations and marketing practices, giving you the specialist skills to work across both disciplines. The integrated foundation has been specially designed to give you the introductory knowledge and skills needed to confidently progress to degree-level study.

In your foundation year, you will develop a broad understanding of the creative industries, touching on aspects of fashion design, fashion marketing, illustration, interior design and graphic design.  Once you have successfully completed your foundation year, you will progress to the first year of BA (Hons) Fashion Marketing (Public Relations).

At degree level, you will explore how the fashion industry promotes its products and creates brand awareness through the web, advertising, advertorials, packaging and publicity.

Using market research, you’ll learn how to build integrated marketing and PR campaigns that effectively promote fashion stories, products and brands.  You will experiment with telling stories using a range of digital and more traditional platforms and explore how technology has shaped the fashion marketing and public relations landscape.

Using contemporary brands as case studies, you’ll examine the application of different digital marketing and social media strategies including branding, CRM, analytics and metrics, search engine optimisation and content creation. You will also have the opportunity to create your own fashion film as a promotional tactic. This practical exercise will help you understand how different techniques and commercial applications can enhance brand awareness and strengthen a brand’s unique personality. This degree will train you to become a media-savvy fashion marketer or PR expert who is able to build integrated strategies that effectively engage with target audiences.
