  • The Marist-LdM Bachelor of Science in Studio Art degree is for students who want to expand their understanding of art and artistic techniques. The diverse and dynamic city of Florence, home to some of the world’s most recognizable masterpieces, which include Botticelli’s Venus and Michelangelo’s David, along with the surrounding Tuscan countryside provide the ideal background for those interested in studying studio arts.

Students are given the exciting opportunity to draw and paint the city’s iconic architecture, historic and contemporary art, and vibrant Florentine culture.  The B.S. with a concentration in Studio Art is a four-year program designed to combine broad-based training in the visual and digital arts with a focus on studio work.

The syllabus provides a stimulating environment for students to gain technical proficiency and creative expression as they are challenged to communicate concepts in a meaningful way, showcasing their own artistic voice. The courses are geared for those who want to go beyond a traditional art education and develop interdisciplinary practices that integrate studio art and additional academic disciplines, giving them the tools necessary for success within their chosen field.
